Mauro 2017 is a red wine from V.T. Castilla y León elaborated by Mauro wineries. It represents the terroir and a unique way of understanding wines, from the hand of Mariano García's family. The combination of these two factors results in a unique wine, which leaves no one indifferent.
In the process of elaboration, a detailed and meticulous selection of the grapes stands out, which later is transferred to deposits separating the items by varieties, farms and zones. The barrels are renewed by 20% annually. 75% is French oak and 25% American.
It was bottled in April 2019 after 15 months of aging in fudres and French and American oak barrels of different ages
Tasting note by Mauro 2016
In this vintage the winter was mild and the spring brief, with an advance of budding, flowering and fruit set. High temperatures and low rainfall distinguished a year with lower yields due to the frosts of April 27 and 28. The summer storms of July and August cooled the vines at the end of ripening. The earliest vintage to date began on September 5 in the La Lengua vineyard.
Mauro 2017 is an exuberant nose with a dominant presence of generous red fruit on a floral background. Fat and delicate with impeccable maturity of fine sifted tannins that dress an opulent and balanced wholE.
