The Macallan distillery began in the 1960s to issue these 18 year old bottlings annually in 'Sherry Cask' and, very importantly, specifying each year the date of distillation until 1986.

All The Macallan 18 Years Old Style were responsible for the great success and rise of The Macallan in terms of style, maturation, flavour and even label, and are now desirable and coveted bottles for any humble connoisseur.

None of them is better or worse; each one has its own taste, being sweeter or stronger or fruitier or more special, but they undoubtedly made history in the world of whisky.
