Description

Amaren Reserva Tempranillo is much more than a wine from Rioja Alavesa; it is an emotional tribute and a masterpiece of precision viticulture.

Created by Juan Luis Cañas in honor of his mother ('Amaren' means 'of the mother' in Basque), this red wine redefines the elegance of the Tempranillo variety. Sourced exclusively from old vineyards over 60 years of age, planted in low-fertility clay-limestone soils with low yields, each bottle captures the purest essence of the terroir. The grape selection is obsessive: only perfect berries enter the winery. Its 22-month aging in new French oak barrels provides a majestic structure without masking the fruit.

In the glass, it presents a deep robe and an intense cherry color. The nose is a display of complexity: ripe black fruit, balsamic notes, sweet spices, and a mineral background characteristic of Alavesa. On the palate, it is enveloping, with silky tannins and a persistence that invites reflection. It is a signature wine designed for the most demanding palates seeking the intersection between power and finesse.

Tasting Note for Amaren Reserva Tempranillo:

Appearance: Deep, bright cherry red. Nose: Intense and complex, dominated by black fruit, liquorice, fine woods, and lactic touches. Palate: Fleshy and structured, with sweet tannins and a long, elegant finish.
