Description

Discover the ultimate expression of Garnacha with A Pie de Tierra Ronca de Mazalba, a single-plot red wine that redefines elegance in the Méntrida denomination of origin.

Crafted by the talented Aitor Paul and David Galiles, this extremely limited production wine (barely 1,200 bottles) has established itself as an authentic gem for collectors and lovers of minimal intervention wines. Sourced from a unique 1.3-hectare vineyard planted more than 40 years ago in the idyllic valley of Ronca de Mazalba, this red captures the pure essence of the Sierra de Gredos.

The vines, cultivated on poor soils of eroded granite and quartz with sandy depths, grant the wine an unmistakable mineral character and a vibrant freshness. This vintage stands out for its ethereal and perfumed profile, the result of a heroic viticulture and a deep respect for the environment. In the winery, the philosophy of minimal intervention is key: spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, use of 100% whole bunches, and an extended maceration of 65 days with very gentle extractions. Its aging for 10 months in 500-liter French oak barrels refines its tannins, achieving a silky texture and a long, persistent finish.

Endorsed with 96+ Parker points, Luis Gutiérrez has described it as the most impressive wine from Méntrida. Buying A Pie de Tierra Ronca de Mazalba is investing in the liquid history of Gredos, a cult wine that cannot be missing from the finest cellars.
