Vermouth Carmeleta Rosso
Malvasia Macabeo Muscat
Description
Vermouth Carmeleta Rosso represents the maximum expression of the contemporary Mediterranean aperitif, a liquid work of art conceived in the region of La Safor, Valencia.
This signature red vermouth challenges traditional conventions from its very conception. Unlike conventional red vermouths, its wine base is composed of a blend of three indigenous white grape varieties: aromatic Moscatel, elegant Malvasía, and unique Planta Nova, cultivated under the influence of sea breezes and the Levantine sun. The characteristic brownish-red color with cherry flashes, which the winery defines as 'orange tree blood', is achieved through a delicate maceration with the skins of the Bobal red grape, contributing not only tonality but also a subtle tannic structure.
The true magic of Carmeleta Rosso lies in its botanical alchemy. Its secret recipe includes up to 40 selected botanicals, where the main protagonist is the Valencian orange tree. The orange peel, its roots, and the green shoots of the tree, carefully harvested at the beginning of spring, just when the sap begins to rise, are used. These elements are combined with alpine wormwood, artemisia, fresh ginger, Saigon cinnamon, wild fennel, and thyme.
The production process combines techniques of distillation, infusion, and slow maceration, allowing each component to contribute its essence without saturating the palate. This vermouth is a collector's piece, ideal for demanding consumers who value craftsmanship, origin, and innovation.
Tasting Note of Vermouth Carmeleta Rosso:
Visual phase: Bright brown color with intense cherry red reflections and coppery flashes.
Olfactory phase: Expressive and complex nose, where notes of sweet licorice, wild Mediterranean herbs, ripe preserved fruit, and a marked balsamic and citric character provided by the orange leaves and roots stand out.
Gustatory phase: Sweet and enveloping entry, with a perfect balance between fruity sweetness and a refreshing acidity. Flavors that evoke orange and cinnamon, giving way to a long, elegantly bitter, spicy, and persistent finish.
Technical specifications: Alcohol content of 15% Vol., 75 cl bottle, produced by Bodega Carmeleta.
