Leeu Passant, Stellenbosch Chardonnay 2019

Leeu Passant, Stellenbosch Chardonnay is a white wine made from chardonnay by the Mullineux & Leeu Winery under the Stellenbosch Appellation in South Africa.

Aged for 12 months in 225L fine grain French oak barrels, 30% of which are new, followed by an additional 8 months of ageing.

Mullineux & Leeu is a young winery founded in 2007, but in a very short time has established itself as one of South Africa's most recognised wine brands. Its plots are located in the Swartland region, with soils composed of granite and marl with excellent potential for the production of quality wines.

Leeu Passant Stellenbosch Chardonnay Tasting Notes

Aroma: Aromas of yellow grapefruit, wet stone and mebos (dried apricots).
Palate: The lively palate reveals aromas of fresh, ripe lime and nectarine, followed by layers of stone fruit and lemon curd. Light salinity and subtle oak give the palate a smooth texture that is perfectly balanced by tangy acidity for a perfectly balanced, crisp finish.
