Alvar de Dios Tio Uco 2025
D.O Castilla y León VT
Toro Ink garnacha
Description
Discover Alvar de Dios Tío Uco, a true revolution in the wine landscape of the Toro region and Castilla y León. Crafted by the visionary winemaker Alvar de Dios, this red wine breaks away from the traditional stereotypes of the area, offering a fresh, vibrant and remarkably elegant profile. Tío Uco is a “vino de comarca” born from vineyards aged between 25 and 40 years, cultivated under organic farming principles on sandy soils.
The masterful blend of 90% Tempranillo (Tinta de Toro) and 10% Garnacha brings fascinating complexity, where the natural power of the grape is tamed through minimal-intervention winemaking. Fermentation is carried out with whole clusters and indigenous yeasts, followed by an ageing period of 5 to 8 months in large neutral French oak foudres (1000–3500L). This process ensures that the wood does not mask the purity of the fruit, resulting in a juicy red wine with bright acidity and silky tannins.
This wine is a celebration of authentic viticulture and respect for the land, offering a unique sensory experience in every glass.
