Bendito Destino La Cabaña
D.O RIBERA DEL DUERO
Bobal tempranillo Albillo Real
Description
Bendito Destino La Cabaña is a cult red wine from the D.O. Ribera del Duero, born in a century-old vineyard of just 0.38 hectares in Canalejas de Peñafiel. Crafted by the prestigious sommelier Terry Kandylis, this field blend combines 75% Tempranillo with Garnacha, Valenciano, Albillo, Alarije, and Pirulés.
With an ultra-limited production of around 550 bottles, it stands out for its Burgundian approach, exceptional freshness, and a unique mineral tension. An elegant red, far from the region's classic opulence, that redefines the Duero terroir.
Tasting Note La Cabaña
Color: Bright cherry with a violet rim.
Nose: It displays a super-floral profile, with notes of orange peel, withered flowers, red cherries, black tea, and a subtle touch of licorice and smoked meat.
Palate: It is silky, tense, and elegant, with finely integrated tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, markedly mineral finish.
Value Points
Unique terroir: Century-old vineyard (planted in the 1920s) at an altitude of 925 meters on sandy-loam and clay soils with a limestone base.
Cult production: Artisanal micro-vinification with an extremely limited production of approximately 550 bottles per vintage.
Burgundian technique: Co-fermentation of red and white varieties with indigenous yeasts and 30% whole clusters, aged in used Hermitage barrels.
International recognition: High scores from critics such as Luis Gutiérrez (Wine Advocate, 96 points) and Jamie Goode (96 points).
Service Protocol
Serve at a temperature between 14°C and 16°C in a Burgundy-style glass to favor its aeration and the expression of its complex floral aromas. Decant for 30 minutes before serving. It pairs perfectly with roasted suckling lamb, small game meats, sautéed mushrooms, and cured sheep's cheeses.
