Description

Ysios Selección is a red wine from the prestigious Ysios winery, located in Laguardia, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa.

Made mainly from Tempranillo grapes sourced from vineyards over 40 years old, grown on clay-limestone soils at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria, it reflects the elegant and modern style of the winery. Its aging in French oak barrels adds complexity, finesse, and balance, enhancing the expression of the Rioja terroir.

Tasting notes

On the eye, it shows a deep cherry-red color with garnet reflections.

On the nose, it displays an intense and complex aromatic profile, with notes of ripe black fruits, plums, and blackberries, interwoven with hints of sweet spices, licorice, cocoa, and a subtle mineral background.

On the palate, it is broad, structured, and elegant, with firm and silky tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, persistent finish where fruity, toasty, and spicy notes reappear.
