Description

Viña de Martin Os Pasas in Magnum format (150cl) is one of the most coveted jewels of Ribeiro, crafted by the legendary winemaker Luis Anxo Rodríguez Vázquez in his small winery in Arnoia, Galicia.

This cult white wine represents the ultimate expression of artisanal viticulture and Galician minifundismo, where each plot is worked with absolute respect for the environment. The blend is dominated by the native Treixadura variety (approximately 70%), masterfully complemented by small percentages of Lado, Albariño, and Torrontés, recovered grapes that contribute unparalleled complexity and freshness. The vineyards are settled on steep granitic terraces, locally known as 'sábrego', situated at altitudes ranging between 100 and 230 meters above sea level. These geographical conditions, combined with the influence of the Atlantic climate with a continental transition, favor a slow and balanced ripening of the grape, preserving a vibrant natural acidity.

The harvest is carried out strictly by hand, selecting the best bunches directly in the field. In the winery, Luis Anxo's philosophy is one of minimal intervention. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine undergoes aging for 10 to 12 months on its fine lees in the same tanks, providing unctuosity, volume, and a structure capable of defying time.

The 150cl Magnum format is ideal for this white, as it slows down the evolution of the wine, enhancing its aromatic complexity and guaranteeing exceptional longevity in the bottle. Viña de Martin Os Pasas  is, without a doubt, an essential reference for lovers of age-worthy white wines with a mineral soul.

Tasting Note of Viña de Martin os Pasas:

Visual Phase: Bright straw yellow color with subtle greenish reflections and golden flashes, of great cleanliness and elegance in the glass.

Olfactory Phase: Complex nose and of great aromatic intensity. Notes of ripe white fruit (pear, green apple), citric touches of lemon peel, wild herbs, fennel, and a marked mineral background of wet stone and chalk stand out.

Gustatory Phase: On the palate it is broad, structured, and with an unctuous mouthfeel thanks to the work with the lees. It presents a vibrant and well-integrated acidity that provides freshness and tension. Long, persistent, and markedly saline finish.

Technical Specifications: Alcohol content of 12.5% vol.

Varieties: Treixadura, Lado, Albariño, and Torrontés. D.O. Ribeiro.

It is recommended to serve at a temperature between 9ºC and 12ºC to appreciate all its aromatic complexity.

It is the perfect accompaniment for high-quality seafood (lobster, spider crab, velvet crab), baked white fish, seafood rice dishes, and semi-cured cheeses.
