Description

Viña Tondonia Reserva, an undisputed masterpiece of the DOCa Rioja crafted by the historic winery R. López de Heredia. This legendary red wine represents the ultimate expression of Rioja classicism, a liquid testament to patience, craftsmanship, and respect for terroir. Born in the mythical Viña Tondonia estate, a spectacular 100-hectare vineyard located in a meander of the Ebro River, this reserva benefits from alluvial and calcareous soils that give the grapes unparalleled complexity.

The traditional blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, and Mazuelo is hand-harvested, selecting only clusters at optimal ripeness. What truly sets Viña Tondonia Reserva apart is its extraordinary aging process: it rests for 72 months in American oak barrels made in the winery’s own cooperage, undergoing two manual rackings per year. It is then clarified with fresh egg whites and bottled unfiltered, where it continues to refine for years before release. The result is a wine of supreme elegance with exceptional aging potential that defies time.
