Description

Alvar de Dios Aciano, a red wine that redefines elegance in the Toro region. It is the result of the vision of the talented winemaker Álvar de Dios Hernández, who has interpreted the terroir of El Pego like no one else. Made primarily with the Tinta de Toro variety, coming from pre-phylloxera vineyards planted in 1919 on sandy soils, this wine is a tribute to tradition and respect for the land.

The vintage is characterized by a climate that allowed for a slow and balanced ripening, resulting in a wine of unusual freshness for the region. In the cellar, the philosophy of minimal intervention is key: fermentation with indigenous yeasts, use of whole clusters, and meticulous aging in French oak foudres that adds complexity without masking the purity of the fruit. A single-plot wine with a very limited production that stands out for its floral profile, notes of wild berries, and a fascinating calcareous minerality. This wine promises an extraordinary evolution in the bottle over the next decade and enjoys outstanding scores in the Parker Guide.
